God put his arms around Leroy and whispered, “Come to me.” On Monday, August 10, 2020, our Heavenly Father saw that Leroy was tired. ![]() At Union, he also served in many capacities including Assistant Chairman of Deacon’s Ministry, Music Ministry, Pastor’s Support Ministry, Sunday School Ministry, Male Choir, Mass Choir, Praise Ensemble, Men of Nehemiah Ministry, Youth Ministry Leader, Transportation Ministry and Union’s Emergency Medical Ministry.Leroy used his God given talents and gifts to serve others as a faithful steward of God. On Father’s Day of June 2001, Leroy joined the Union Baptist Church in Macon, GA under the leadership of Pastor David L. ![]() He would later give of his service in many capacities including Deacon’s Ministry, Sunday School Superintendent, Finance Committee, Male Chorus, Mass Choir and Gospel Choir. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Twiggs County. Leroy accepted Christ into his life at an early age and became a member of the Mt. He was a dedicated member of the Bowden Senior Men’s Golf League of Macon, GA. He made it his mission to make sure his Pastor never defeated him. He went on to faithfully serve the City of Macon and Bibb County for 35 years, retiring in 2010 with the rank of Captain. Leroy was also recognized as Fireman of the Year for 2004. He obtained numerous certifications and completed countless courses that allowed him to move up through the ranks.Among his accomplishments, Leroy completed First Responder training at Macon Technical Institute in 1990, was certified by the Georgia Department of Human Resources as an Emergency Medical Technician in 1994, became a CPR Instructor and managed the 911 Fire Call Center. After returning home from the military, Leroy became employed with the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department. Leroy served his country proudly for 3 years and was honorably discharged in 1974 having attained the rank of Sergeant. He enlisted in the United States Army shortly after graduation. He graduated from Twiggs County High School as part of the Class of 1971. He was born into the parentage of the late Rayfield Jackson and Addie Wimberly Jackson in Twiggs County, GA. Interment will follow at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery 2617 Vinson Road Milledgeville, Georgia 31061.ĭeacon Captain Leroy Jackson made his debut on January 16, 1953, blessing the world in a special way. Pastor David Stanley will deliver the eulogy. Leroy Jackson will be held Monday, Augat 10:00 AM at Macon City Auditorium.
